Casa di Trevi: Roselle Park, NJ

casaditrevi.com

In attempts to explain innovative and exciting new concepts and products, I usually find myself speaking in contradictions. After all, when you’re part of something special, nobody has set the precedent yet! So when I try to explain the food at Italian market Casa di Trevi, I hope you forgive me when I say that it is as imaginative and creative as it is authentic and traditional. Those characteristics rarely come together, but when I dive into their menu offerings, I hope that you’ll agree that this unique description does them justice. Continue Reading »

A Beauty Review: Benefit’s Fake Up

Lately, I’ve been on a bit of a “flawless face” kick. I’ve realized that it doesn’t matter how great you are with a smoky eye if you’ve got dark under eye circles, huge pores, or blemishes. Beautiful skin is the best tool in your beauty arsenal.  If you, like me, weren’t blessed with perfect skin, then you know how great it is to find a product that can help you get your own flawless face.

I haven’t always had under eye circles, but I seem to have developed them over the course of the past several months.  Whether it’s because I’m officially old – I just turned 23 – or if I just need to get more sleep, I’m not quite sure why I’m suddenly getting them. I do know that I don’t like them and that I’ve been trying nearly everything to hide and get rid of them.  My most recent trial? Benefit’s Fake Up. Read on to hear what I thought.

Enjoy Delicious Aged Cheeses – Even If You’re Lactose-Intolerant!

For the past month, I have been on a gluten-free, lactose-free diet. I knew it would be a tough transition: I’m a vegetarian! I live on carbs! But one of the biggest difficulties I found was that I thought I would have to give up cheeses. I love cheese. Delicious cheeses from around the world make up a significant portion of my diet. So imagine my delight when I learned that I could still keep my favorite cheeses in my diet. In a world with so many people looking out for potential food allergies, it’s great to know which products are entirely safe! I caught up with a representative from Cabot Cheese at a health and sports expo in my area — read on to see what I learned! Continue Reading »

Manicure Monday: You’re Such a BudaPest

You're Such a BudaPestI’ve recently fallen in love with OPI’s Euro Centrale collection.  From Polka.com, a fun blue and violet glitter, to My Vampire is Buff, a creamy nude, the colors are so perfect for Spring.  One of my favorites from the collection is You’re Such a BudaPest, a lovely shade of what OPI calls “periwinkle-purple.”  I even have a Pinterest board for the shade.  When I got a few of the Euro Centrale polishes for my birthday (good gift or best gift?!), the first one I had to use was You’re Such a BudaPest.

163: New York City

Is it possible for a store to be unique and trendy at the same time? By very definition, trends are everywhere while unique finds feel rare and personal, but both are words I use when I describe 163, a great accessories boutique located at, of course, 163 West 4th Street in New York City. Who cares if it’s a total contradiction — it works! Browsing through the store’s cases of gorgeous jewelry and fun accessories is the real life equivalent of scrolling through Pinterest boards. Check out my favorite picks from my last trip to the store! Continue Reading »

Shoesday Tuesday: Nike Studio Wrap

The first time you see the Nike Studio Wraps, you’re likely to think, “What are those?!” Are they shoes? Flip flops? New Vibrams? Ballet slippers? At least those were the immediate questions I had. There’s no easy answer to that deceptively difficult question, so you’re just going to have to accept the claim that they’re sorta kinda pretty much all of the above. Will these futuristic-looking hybrid shoes completely revolutionize your workout routines? Or will they simply earn you some pointing and staring from passersby on the street? Get the details on this fancy footwear right here, and decide for yourself!
