I marked the launch date for 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target months in advance. I set my alarm to wake me up hours before my closest store opened. So it’s safe to say that this was a highly anticipated designer launch. Now that my credit card is cooling off, I can take some time to review the collection — menswear, womenswear, and accessories! Fall Into Fashion
One of the things that makes me feel better about leaving the beautiful summer sun behind and transitioning into fall is fashion. I love summer because there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than prancing around the Jersey shore in a bikini and cute cover-up, but there’s something about the tights, the boots, and the knits that come out in fall that make me feel so cozy and stylish at the same time.
Move over, neons – this fall is all about muted tones. Pantone, the global authority on color, chose these colors as the colors of the season:
New York Fashion Week: Creatures Of The Wind Spring/Summer 2013 Makeup By NARS
Creatures of the Wind is a super artistic fashion brand that designs beautiful garments featuring graphic patterns and bold colors, so it comes as no surprise that their Spring/Summer 2014 collection was accentuated with vibrant, colorful makeup by NARS. If you love this fresh-off-the-runway look from New York Fashion Week, we’ve got the complete product breakdown directly from the brand’s makeup team.
“The real statement of the makeup look is the satin textured orange lip,” explained James Boehmer, NARS Director of Global Artistry.

Lee Daniels’ The Butler
I was born two decades after Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. I was born a biracial female: Black and Mexican. In preschool one of my best friends was Latina and my other best friend was half Asian-American and half White. My first boyfriend was Armenian. I have never known a world in which I cannot be served at any restaurant open to the public. I have never thought or been told that I could not be friends with or date someone because of their race or culture. And although racism still certainly exists, I have never been physically attacked due to the color of my skin.
A Beauty Review: True Girl Naturally Clear Pineapple Blast Zit Zapper
True Girl Naturally Clear Pineapple Blast Zit Zapper, ($16)
Color me skeptical, but I really didn’t anything called a “zit zapper” would do anything for my skin. Same goes for blemish bashers — something about the alliterative quality of these catchy terms just makes them feel a whole lot less medical, and a lot more gross.
Since I’m a sucker for excellent skincare, I decided to give this product a go — read on to see how I fared! Continue Reading »

Dekor Design: Bergen, Norway
Dekor Design is a small family- owned Norwegian company that makes truly one-of-a-kind pieces. The designers make all kinds of custom trinkets, but I snapped up a stunning, colorful ring on my summer trip to Norway. I always love picking up jewelry on my travels because those are the kinds of things I will wear every day and will have a constant reminder of my adventures. You can check out their handmade glass pieces at dekordesign.no. Or, if you’re lucky enough to go traveling in Scandinavia, they have a booth at the popular Fish Market in central Bergen, Norway. In the midst of a total tourist hotspot, you can really uncover a gem!
Manicure Monday: Minnie Mouse
There’s something about Disney that’s so … magical. I don’t think I know anyone that doesn’t like Disney. In fact, I don’t even know anyone who is neutral about Disney. Everyone loves Disney! So why not make a Disney-themed manicure? This week’s manicure is a tribute to none other than Minnie Mouse! The bright red bow on top of a demure off-white manicure makes me think of the early days of Disney, which I love just as much as the Disney princess era. Read on to learn how to get the look.
