Diane Von Furstenberg x Roxy: We Heart These Printed Surf-Ready Swimsuits

A couple of weeks ago, I wore a flowing printed dress to the office. One of my coworkers gasped when she saw it, claiming, “you look like you’re partying on a yacht in the 1970s. That dress must be DVF!” Of course it was. Diane’s prints, silhouettes, and rich yacht-party vibe make her pieces instantly recognizable and luxurious. Her newest project, DVF ❤ Roxy,  a collaboration with our favorite beachy surf supplier, is sure to make some waves! As if you needed another reason to countdown to beach weather. Get all the details on these gorgeous (and completely affordable!) swimsuits and gear, right here.  Continue Reading »

Manicure Monday: Matte Jelly Glitter

#ManicureMonday Matte Jelly GlitterI absolutely love the new Liquid Sand trend in nail polish, but since I don’t own those polishes and don’t want to spend the money, I’ve been searching for a way to achieve the matte, textured look with the polishes I already own.  I may or may not have missed the mark exactly on a Liquid Sand look with this technique, but I think the manicure that came out of it looks pretty cool! I love the look of the glitter with a matte topcoat – it stands out and sparkles without actually being … glittery. I’m a big fan of the way it came out and I can’t wait to test the look again on different colors and glitters soon!

Listen: J. Cole, “Power Trip” featuring Miguel

j-cole-power-trip-500x500

Rapper J. Cole has been pretty quiet these past few months but he surprised everyone earlier this week when he suddenly dropped a five track mixtape called Truly Yours and announced an upcoming single to be released today. His first single? A chill, smooth track called “Power Trip” featuring current R&B king Miguel. In the song, Cole is pining after a girl he has had a long-standing crush on: “She got me up all night, all I’m singin’ is love songs.” While this may not be the ideal song to listen to on Valentine’s Day if you’re incredibly single and lonely, “Power Trip” is a great piece of work. As of this moment, Cole’s sophomore album Born Sinner has no release date but it’s definitely among the most anticipated albums of 2013.

Click through to check out “Power Trip” and download the free mixtape Truly Yours while you’re at it:

Manicure Monday: Valentine’s Day Heart

photoWhen I sat down to do my Valentine’s Day-themed Manicure Monday, I had big ideas to do a different pattern on every nail.  Glitter, hearts, polka dots, flowers, matte polish, everything. I started to do the manicure, and I realized that my nails started to look like a tacky Valentine’s Day card. Obviously that’s not the look I was going for, so I decided to keep it simple.

Three Surprisingly Good Celebrity Fragrances

Every time you turn around, some celebrity or other is signing themselves a fragrance production deal. Some stars put all their time and energy into developing scents that really capture their own essence, while others blindly sign their names away to cheap, watery sprays only intending to make a buck off of us. I’ve smelled them all – from the high end, luxurious mixes to the specialty store blends. I’m a big fan of admitting what you love, point blank, no matter how cheesy or embarrassing. So, with that in mind — here are my top three pleasant surprises!  Continue Reading »
