Manicure Monday: Nail Lingerie

Manicure Monday: Nail Lingerie via The Collaboreight When I received Sation Nail Lacquer in Of Corset I’ll Call You in this month’s Ipsy bag, I had to try it immediately.  It’s described as “a romantic lavender-rose” and it’s one of my new favorite shades.  It adds the perfect pop of color, but still looks feminine and natural. Good thing Ipsy gave me a full-sized bottle in my bag – I’ll be using this shade a lot! (For those wondering, Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription where you receive 4-5 deluxe samples or even full-sized products!)

Since the color is so beautiful on its own, I almost didn’t want to add a design to it.  But sometimes I just can’t help myself, so I went with it! Click through to see how I got this look for this week’s Manicure Monday.

Kate Young x Target: Worst Collaboration Ever?

It’s not often that I flat out bash any designer collection. That’s because usually every collection has something out there for everyone to enjoy. But that’s precisely the bone I have to pick with Target’s latest collaboration with Kate Young. Though the stylist’s debut line was a highly anticipated launch, after test-driving some pieces, I would go so far as to say that regardless of the way you enjoy your Target collabs (from sifting through the racks enjoying the latest styles, to picking up at least one piece per launch to add to your wardrobe), you’ll be let down. I am 100% confident in saying that Kate Young’s Target line is the worst collaboration that the superstore has ever featured. Why can I make such bold claims? Because my reasons for disliking the offerings of the line are not taste-specific. Continue Reading »

Trend Report: Dragonfly Gems

Fantasia Fiori Simulated Pearl Encrusted Dragonfly Brooch, $65, 1928.com

One time, (or maybe even more than once) I was sitting in the park and out of nowhere, a dragonfly dive-bombed into my face. I guess I must have gotten over it, because I’m totally digging the latest jewelery trend: glitzy dragonfly gems. These (usually) graceful creatures aren’t just hot on the runways — they’re in high demand, as we can tell by fashion searches on sites like Polyvore. Check out my favorites from the range of these glamorous high-fashion accessories here! Continue Reading »

Manicure Monday: Tribal Accents

20130415-205746.jpgWhen it comes to nail art, tribal accents look like possibly one of the most complicated designs. I’ve always been drawn to the design, but with such small details, I’ve never been brave enough to try it. And that is what today’s Manicure Monday is all about – making the tribal manicure easy. You’ll find that this tutorial might be on the long side, but that’s just because there’s a lot of little (but not difficult!) details. Read on to learn how to get this manicure yourself!

Hinari Sushi: Springfield, NJ

Dumpling Soup, Hinari Sushi

Hinari Sushi is a great restaurant that serves up fresh and tasty Japanese and Korean meals on the regular. Since it’s only few doors away from another one of my favorite lunch spots, I have been to this casual eatery so many times that I’ve had the opportunity to sample quite a bit of their menu. With a practically endless menu of hand rolls, sushi, and sashimi, plus other great non-seafood entrees, you can try out something new every time you go. Check out my top picks from this delicious restaurant! Continue Reading »

Workout Gear: Take pride in your appearance.

securedownloadWorkout clothes were never a top priority when I was frivolously spending cash on my shopping days. For years, I would always grab a few scrubby workout tops and pants here and there from different stores because, quite frankly, I never thought the investment was worth it. My mother would always give me lame examples of professional teams that trained in ripped, old clothing, saying “it’s not about what you are wearing while training, it’s how you train.” To an extent, I believe this to be very true. However, over the past few months I have really changed my opinion. I never wanted to give in and buy the trendy expensive workout clothes or shoes because they were cute. But seriously, I find they really do make a difference. Continue Reading »
