Manicure Monday: Neutral Daisies

Manicure Monday Neutral DaisiesBlack and white is a huge trend for spring.  Adding in bright colors might look a bit tacky, but adding in a pop of nude can brighten the look without being overpowering.  After all, the black and white is the point of the trend! Pair these colors with some flowers and you’ve got a perfect almost-springtime manicure.  This look isn’t as difficult as it may seem.  Read along to learn how to get this cute and classy mani.

As always, start this manicure with clean nails and your favorite (Seche Natural) base coat! From there, apply two even coats of your base shades – I used Maybelline’s Color Show Nail Lacquer in Onyx Rush, the perfect black – it has just enough shimmer to help it transition into a girly manicure, and Zoya Nail Polish in Kennedy, beige cream polish with an almost pink hue to it, for the nude.

Take your dotting tool and create a few polka dots on each nail – I did four on each nail and five on my thumb. You can always add more later, but you don’t want to overcrowd your daisies!

Go back to your polka dots and create two or three (depending on the size of your nails) daisies on each nail by adding more dots around a few of the polka dots you already created. They may look like flowers, but they’re nothing more than a few polka dots clustered together!

Pull the look together with a little gold (or silver, depending on your preference!) glitter dot in the middle of each flower. I used Art Club Nail Polish from Five Below for my gold glitter.  Feel free to fill in empty space on your nails with more polka dots! I certainly did!  Before finishing with Seche Vite, wait a minute or so for the design to dry a bit, so your top coat doesn’t smudge the design.
