Curio Road

The thing that I love about fashion is how much it changes.  To one person, only the most expensive designer products are fashionable.  Many people love national retailers.  Someone might fall in love with a piece from a thrift store, while someone else may hate the fact that someone else owned that necklace first.  I’m big on deals.  I’m always happier walking away with an awesome piece that didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.  I really think that anyone can buy designer labels.  Putting together something unique on a budget is a challenge – but it doesn’t have to be.  Enter Curio Road.

Websites like Rue La La, Gilt, and HauteLook are great ways to get designer looks for less.  I actually shop on all of them.  And I love all of them.  I’ll be the first to admit that allure that designer products have.  Knowing that you’re wearing something expensive can bring a lot of confidence.  My first designer purchase was a pair of bright yellow patent leather Michael Kors wedges for $72.  I was so proud of myself that day.

For those of you looking for a deal on something unique, rather than something trendy, Curio Road is the site for you.  They’re a self-described “ever-changing boutique of shops from creative artists, in categories like jewelry, accessories, decor and gifts.”  Think the Shops at Target, but more exclusive.  Even if you’re not ready to shop, this website is perfect for window shopping.   The site is laid out like Pinterest, with each “shop” acting as a Pinterest board and each item as a pin.

The company’s mission is to help you “Live beautifully.”  I think they’re pretty successful at that.

Have you checked out Curio Road?
