You know what I love about Chanel? (Besides, um, everything?) The brand manages to maintain its signature classic elegance while adapting to the coolest trends of modern times. Or maybe I’m just overjoyed right now because their new Boy Bag model, Alice Dellal, has the same half-shaved haircut as I do. Since the campaign images were released, every news outlet is … buzzing… with questions about what Alice’s presence does to Chanel’s proper ladylike image. I am happy to say that Alice represents buzzheads with poise and glamour.
You may have seen Alice in Teen Vogue’s June/July 2012 issue, out now. I think I’m more obsessed with Alice’s look than I am with this purse. (And that’s saying something.) Even though we have the same hair, our personal styles are far off. While I’d love to rock the edgy punk look, any holes in my tights are there because I fell and skinned my knees. I am dying to try this pearl-adorned part: a hairstyle that even non-buzzheads could fake flawlessly. Even though her tattoos and piercings aren’t traditional features of the Chanel spokesgirl, I think that Alice shows a new interpretation of elegance in this campaign. And the Boy Bag certainly looks stunning with its gunmetal hardware draped over Alice’s shoulder.
What do you think of this campaign?
I love this campaign, but think especially since Alice isn’t representing the whole of Chanel as a brand, but rather ‘ Boy Chanel’ it doesnt really take away from the brand’s ladylike image. I love her hair with the clips as well!
Agreed: she’s a great niche model. I don’t necessarily see her in the tweed suits, but this is so cool.
I am looking at this bag at the Chanel store in Short Hills today. Is the bag as good as the ad??????????????

Nah, I think it looks better on Alice than it does on the shelf.
