New York Fashion Week: 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall/Winter 2014

Amped-up natural beauty with a kick of exaggerated edge was the beauty look that accompanied 3.1 Phillip Lim‘s graphic and geomerical Fall/Winter 2014 collection at New York Fashion Week. “It’s time to ‘rock the casbah’ this fall. A bold, angled brow, clean eyelids and slightly sculpted cheeks give a bit of new wave punk inspiration,” lead NARS artist Francelle Daly said of the look.

New York Fashion Week: Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2014

If you see the bleached eyebrows that were featured on Alexander Wang‘s fall 2014 runway show in New York and think of Miley Cyrus‘s brief stint with barely-there yellow brows, you’re not reading into the complexities of the fashion statement.

“The look focuses on ‘pure’ beauty – it’s all about lightness and the shadows between,” Diane Kendal, lead NARS makeup artist, said of the haunting look, which plays up the brand’s androgynous fall fashion collection.

New York Fashion Week: Thakoon Fall/Winter 2014 Makeup By NARS

It’s fashion week in New York City, and both the fashion looks and the clothes and makeup looks for fall 2014 are simply smoldering! The cool makeup looks from Thakoon are especially inspiring.

Manicure Monday: Liquid Sand

I’ve always been intrigued my texture polishes. How cool is it that you can create nail art just with a swipe of a brush? From metallic polishes and feather polishes, to crackle polish and velvet. It’s amazing how easy nail art can be! My newest texture obsession? I’ve recently fallen in love with Liquid Sand by OPI.

Pretty Little Liars x Aeropostale: Costume-Inspired Collection

Manicure Monday: Gradient Graffiti

In what was possibly the most perfect gift for me, I was given a Michael Kors Nail Lacquer gift set, complete with Runway Star, Rock Star and Superstar – three glam shimmery shades. I immediately fell in love with the colors and the opacity of the polishes. I had to create a rock star manicure to go with these rock star shades – so what did I create? Teen Wolf is Back!

The title of MTV’s hit show Teen Wolf is embarrassing. As was the cover photo that Netflix chose, before they removed the show from their libraries (much to the dismay of fans if the comment section is indicative of anything). Last year when I first tried to watch Teen Wolf both the title and the photo were the main reasons why I had absolutely no interest in ever watching the show. It looked and sounded like something no one over 16 should be watching. However, after months of hearing about how mature, smart and thrilling the show is from my BFF at work I decided to just try to watch the pilot to see what all the hooblah was about….I’ve been hooked ever since.
