Manicure Monday: Matte & Glossy Polka Dots

I’m a big fan of matte nail polish. I was never really sure where to go with it. Do you buy a matte color? Do you just get a matte top coat? Do matte top coats work on every polish? Can you apply a top coat over your matte polish? I had so many questions that I never actually ended up getting any matte nail polish – until recently. I found NYC’s Matte Me Crazy Mattifying Top Coat in a drug store and it was so inexpensive, I had to try it. Since I started using it, I’ve been inspired the look of the matte polish against the glossy polish, like when I made a matte and glossy French manicure! This week, I’ve gone with a look that’s a little more fun – and a lot easier to recreate. Read on to find out how to get your own matte and glossy polka dots!

Foodie Friday: Gspritzin Blush Wine Review

Hello Fellow Food Adventurers,

WineHave you ever wanted a nice bottle of wine with a cheesy slice of pizza? I have, and because I’m not much of a beer drinker, wine has become my meal’s best friend. But what kind of wine would go with a giant slice of cheesy, salty, and crunchy goodness? It can’t be too sweet or earthy and definitely not a dry wine. I know you are dying to know what I ended up drinking in my awesome cat wine glass (which can be seen on the left side of the pizza box if you look really hard). The winner was, blush wine.

There are some films that make you feel good for reasons you can’t explain. They’re the types of films that you watch and have an array  of conflicting emotions throughout. Manicure Monday: Gone Gingham

IMG_5429Today’s Manicure Monday  is a gorgeous tone-on-tone gingham print. Bright, bold colors definitely stand out, but it’s the intricacy of the pattern that makes this look shine.  I actually aimed for a much different look – ultra skinny diagonal lines – but after trying to create it, my ultra skinny lines came out pretty … hefty.  Sometimes beauty comes out of mistakes because I really ended up loving the way these turned out.  I’m not going to lie – it’s a pretty hard look to achieve on yourself.  It was hard for me to accidentally achieve, so it might be easier to get if you’re setting out to get the look. Brave enough to try it yourself? Read on.

Minute Manicure Removal

I change my nail polish as often as I change my clothes. Okay – not that often, but I still do my nails more often than the average person.  When it comes to taking my polish off, the cotton balls can add up.  Until I learned a neat little trick to use only ONE cotton ball each time I take my polish off. Don’t believe me? Read on.  Continue Reading »
