Listen and download: Windows Down Playlist

Windows Down Playlist cover

These days the sun is out for a little longer and the pollen isn’t threatening to fly into my face/mouth as I drive with my windows down so I figured it was about time for a new playlist. This is the kind of stuff you wouldn’t be embarrassed to be blasting in your car. House, pop, indie, hip hop, R&B – a little bit of everything is there so listen up and check out the download link at the end of the post:

1) Karen Harding, “Say Something”
A few weeks ago I had this turned all the way up in my car while stuck in traffic and I saw the guy in the car next to me bopping his head along to the beat as he tried to Shazam/Soundhound/whatever the song from his phone. Unfortunately we started moving and I don’t think he got it. Sorry, guy.

2) Jess Glynne, “Hold My Hand”
Jess Glynne is that girl from Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be.” It makes me want to run but I don’t like running so I won’t.

3) Zak Abel, “These Are the Days”
Best known for his vocals on the Gorgon City’s “Unmissable,” London singer Zak Abel has been busy working on his own stuff. The keyboard riffs remind me of the one’s on Justin Timberlake’s “Señorita.”

4) MisterWives, “Our Own House”
We’ve featured MisterWives on here before and we’re loving this song from their latest album.

5) Martin Solveig & GTA, “Intoxicated”
It’s a banger, everyone.

6) Priory, “Weekend” (Oliver Nelson Remix)
Driving home from work on a Friday, the sun is shining just right, and everything is all good.

7) Ta-ku, “Closet Drake Fans”
Traptastic. Dedicated to all of the closet Drake fans.

8) Fetty Wap, “Trap Queen”
Some people love this track, some people hate it – I am among the former. Maybe it’s because he’s a Jersey boy, or maybe because it’s so oddly romantic??

9) Naughty By Nature, “Jamboree” ft. Zhane
The part where we start bringing it back old school. Always a feel good song.

10) The Notorious B.I.G., “Big Poppa”
The intro makes me feel like I should be pulling up into a parking lot, then opening my car door in slow motion while a huge cloud of smoke from inside the car flows out behind me. It’s a very specific feeling.

11) Mark Morrison, “Return of the Mack”
Another classic.

12) The Diplomats, “I Wanna Be Your Lady” ft. Nicole Wray
Everyone knows this one but no one really knows the title or who sings it. Here it is.

13) Ginuwine, “Pony” (ESTA. Remix)
A really cool take on one of the best R&B songs of all time.

14) Mase, “Feels So Good”
Man, what happened to Mase?

15) R. Kelly, “Ignition” (Remix)
Don’t lie, you know all the lyrics to this.

16) Kanye West, “All Falls Down”
I miss this Kanye.

17) Kat Dahlia, “Crazy” (CAPSUN Remix)
We love the original but the CAPSUN remix brings it up a notch.

18) AlunaGeorge, “You Know You Like It” (DJ Snake Remix)
DJ Snake makes this AlunaGeorge tune more accessible and danceable for the masses.

19) Major Lazer x DJ Snake, “Leon On” ft. MØ
Another DJ Snake track. Definitely one of the must listen songs for this summer.

20) M83, “Midnight City”
Cannot have a windows down playlist without this.

Happy driving, everyone! Download the playlist: HERE.

About Camille G.

Camille's passion for music began at the advent of the very illegal Napster, which she maaay or may not have used at the time. This interest made a natural progression into learning and teaching herself how to play various instruments for fun. Due to a lack of actual talent and the desire for job predictability, she graduated from Seton Hall University in nursing. When she has time off from her job as a registered nurse in NJ, she enjoys digging through the internet for new things to listen to. Sharing her discoveries and favorite songs with friends through mix CDs, playlists, blogs, and parties is the part of the music experience she enjoys the most, so this is a great opportunity for her to do just that.
