Ooh a shiny new playlist of some really cool songs. Download the entire playlist up ahead:
1) Years & Years, “Desire”
We’re absolutely loving British trio Years & Years right now. Be sure to keep an eye out for their debut album Communion, coming out June 22.
2) Marina and the Diamonds, “Froot” (St. Lucia Remix)
Marina and the Diamonds just dropped her album Froot, along with its title single. It hasn’t taken long for remixes to start churning out, including this banger by St. Lucia.
3) Tink, “Ratchet Commandments”
The video for “Ratchet Commandments” is reminiscent of those of Missy Elliott’s, with the lyrics a current version of Lauryn’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” – though we’re not comparing Tink to either of those rap greats yet, we’re hoping to see big things from her, too.
4) Crookers, “I Just Can’t” ft. Jeremih
Jeremih’s foray into electronic music is surprising but it still works. Annie Mac played this during her set for Mixmag in October and we were going a little crazy trying to find a proper download of it – alas, we had to wait until last month for Sixteen Chapel to get released.
5) Madeon, “Pay No Mind” ft. Passion Pit
We can always rely on Passion Pit to lift our spirits up and they don’t disappoint on this track with (the insanely young, but seasoned) house producer Madeon.
6) Shift K3Y, “Name & Number”
This is another catchy one from Shift K3Y that keeps us dancing all the way through and has a chorus to easily sing along to.
7) MNEK, “A Thousand Miles” (Vanessa Carlton Refix)
Ever since MNEK dropped this on his SoundCloud, we haven’t been able to get enough of this. Vanessa Carlton cover?! “Love Shack” sample?! Yes, we’ll take it.
8) Tinashe, “All Hands On Deck” (Giraffage Remix)
Tinashe released her video for this single the other day and it’s been racking up the YouTube views like crazy, especially after Kanye tweeted out a link to it. This remix speeds up the original groove of the song and brings in some dance breaks – perfect for you to make your own music video in some shipping containers.
9) Alina Baraz & Galimatias, “Fantasy” (Felix Jaehn Remix)
The original version is super chill and the remix from Felix Jaehn adds in some ~tropical feels~ making us even more nostalgic for the sun. 70+ degree weather, we are patiently waiting for you.
10) Leon Bridges, “Better Man”
Leon Bridges is an artist everyone should be watching right now. His throwback ’50s/’60s soul sound is refreshing in a music world run by electronic effects.
