Listen: MisterWives, “Reflections”

Lately NYC band MisterWives has been keeping busy promoting their debut album Our Own House (released February 24), appearing on shows like Late Night with Seth Meyers and Good Morning America. Their initial EP release, Reflections, was pretty pop driven, but after a listen through OOH, it’s obvious there’s more to this band than catchy hooks and dance parties. Lead singer Mandy Lee has a distinct voice, although I was sitting here for the past 20 minutes swearing that she did a performance with La Blogotheque, but it turns out I was getting her confused with singer Alex Winston. Both singers have collaborated with DJ/producer/electro duo The Knocks – which is how I first heard of Lee, on M83’s “Midnight City.” Another notable cover? MisterWives’s version of Sam Smith’s “Money On My Mind.”

MisterWives is on tour now. Check out Our Own House.

About Camille G.

Camille's passion for music began at the advent of the very illegal Napster, which she maaay or may not have used at the time. This interest made a natural progression into learning and teaching herself how to play various instruments for fun. Due to a lack of actual talent and the desire for job predictability, she graduated from Seton Hall University in nursing. When she has time off from her job as a registered nurse in NJ, she enjoys digging through the internet for new things to listen to. Sharing her discoveries and favorite songs with friends through mix CDs, playlists, blogs, and parties is the part of the music experience she enjoys the most, so this is a great opportunity for her to do just that.
