Peter Som x Kohl’s: St. Barths-Inspired Summer Pieces

livingfiesta.com

I was really excited when I found out that the newest DesigNation collection for Kohl’s was going to be designed by Peter Som. The St. Barths-inspired collection features gorgeous map-patterned fabrics and sassy maxi dresses, which are perfect for lazy summer days. I loved looking at the designs online, but when I went to Kohl’s to check out the new collection I wasn’t as obsessed with the collection as I thought I would be.

The same dresses I loved from the collection online looked wonderful in person, but I was kind of disappointed by the rest of the looks in the line. The collection has a lot of standard, boring items that I wouldn’t expect from Peter Som. Plain striped shift dresses and black pants are great (especially for workwear), but they don’t fit in a collection that’s supposed to be all about a summery island getaway. I also felt like the cuts of the clothes were intended for a woman older than me, so I was surprised that the clothes are in the juniors section of the store. That being said, the colorful rainbow maxi dresses are still stunning, and I’m saving up and waiting for a sale so I can get a little piece of this season’s newest collection for myself!

Check out some of the stand-out pieces here, and tell us if you had any luck with the line!
