It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Full Coverage Physical SPF 50 CC Cream, ($35)
I’ll be completely honest, the qualifier “full coverage” terrifies me. I mean, who wants to look like you’re wearing a mask of makeup?
Full coverage and lightweight aren’t terms that you’ll usually find together when you’re talking about foundations — and none of my drawer full of BB creams really cover anything. But this CC cream from It Cosmetics says it’s “Your Skin But Better” — and that I couldn’t resist.
My worries about full coverage were erased the second I smoothed on some of this amazing CC cream. It’s not full coverage in the way that heavy, cakey stage makeup I’ve worn in the past is — it just covers the way a foundation does but with the benefits of a tinted moisturizer or BB cream.
How is this even possible? I have no idea. If I knew there was a way to upgrade my usual foundation to a more skin-friendly option, I would have done it years ago. (Except this technology is so new, it just launched!)
I also like the way this CC cream stays on all day — even after a workout at the gym. One negative is that you do have to reapply constantly if you want the impressive SPF 50 to actually be helpful — which is the case with all SPF products. Read your labels! At least you don’t have to in terms of coverage and durability.
This CC cream comes in 5 shades and you have to be a little bit more careful when selecting a shade than you would be with a tinted moisturizer — I tend to get a shade darker when going with more transparent formulas, but go with your true color on this one.
Just a note: the packaging is a tube with a pump — I haven’t run into a problem with it yet, and hopefully this will remain the case. I’ve never seen this kind of bottle for a cream. This is a total win in my book, so far.
