Music Video: will.i.am, “Scream & Shout” featuring Britney Spears

will.i.am is coming back with a new solo album called #willpower on February 1st. His hashtagged album title might be something we’ll be laughing at 10 years from now because of sheer irrelevance (see: mentions of pagers/beepers by artists such as 3LW and Destiny’s Child) but who am I to question the longevity of Twitter and Instagram?

“Scream & Shout” reminds me of “I’m In the House,” a song will.i.am did with DJ Steve Aoki under his pseudonym Zuper Blahq in 2010. The pumping electro beat is addicting and I can definitely imagine this getting played in a club to a dancing, throbbing crowd. This new single is heavy on the autotune with will.i.am’s vocals but Britney overshadows the faults in this song. From the dark British alter-ego she takes on for part of the song to her uttering “Britney, bitch,” Britney is totally badass here. She don’t care what you think.

Check out the blinged out music video and song below:

About Camille G.

Camille's passion for music began at the advent of the very illegal Napster, which she maaay or may not have used at the time. This interest made a natural progression into learning and teaching herself how to play various instruments for fun. Due to a lack of actual talent and the desire for job predictability, she graduated from Seton Hall University in nursing. When she has time off from her job as a registered nurse in NJ, she enjoys digging through the internet for new things to listen to. Sharing her discoveries and favorite songs with friends through mix CDs, playlists, blogs, and parties is the part of the music experience she enjoys the most, so this is a great opportunity for her to do just that.
