Animal testing — for any reason — is one of the most controversial topics out there. It doesn’t always have to be political or extreme. Regardless of your involvement in the cause or your personal opinions on the matter, it’s always a good idea to be aware of what you’re buying and wearing! You may have noticed the small bunny logo popping up more and more often on the back of your favorite products. This is great progress all around. Chances are, if a brand isn’t testing on animals, it’s also free of chemicals that could be harming you. Read on for a list of our favorite cruelty-free companies! Your favorite brands may be on the list — or you can work to get them there.

Just because a brand is natural, organic, or cruelty free doesn’t mean it’s totally hippie-dippie (I know about PETA’s crazy rep) or out of touch with the latest trends. Keep in mind that a brand may not actually test on animals, but not display the bunny logo. If you don’t see your brand here and feel passionate that they either stop animal testing or get officially certified against it, let them know! The Leaping Bunny Organization is part of the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics, making sure that any buyer is able to know what’s in the stuff they’re buying.
