You may be the kind of girl who isn’t big on wearing makeup because she thinks it takes too much time. You could be the girl who would love to wear makeup regularly, but only wears it when she’s going out for a night on the town. Maybe you’re the girl who knows everything there is to know about beauty and cosmetics, but whose beauty routine takes hours. For any or all of you, I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way. You can wear makeup without adding much time onto your morning routine. Don’t believe me? What if I were to tell you that you could simplify your beauty routine to just five minutes. Yes, hair and makeup. I completed the look above in just under four minutes, actually. And I timed it. Whether you believe me or not, read on to find out how. I’ll make you a beauty guru in no time.
The secret to cutting down on time and simplifying your beauty routine is using products that multitask. The same way that you save time at school or work by multitasking, you can shave time off of your beauty routine by multitasking. I can have you looking fresh and fabulous using only five products. Five products in under five minutes. I’m not lying. Let’s get started.
Hair. Apply a leave-in conditioner, such as L’Oreal’s EverPure Moisture Leave-In Conditioner, to towel-dried hair. This product is a “lightweight gel-cream,” which means it’s doing two things. The gel is controlling your style, and the cream is moisturizing and hydrating your hair. Throw your hair into a quick bun or braid. The gel-cream will help to hold the curls from your style as your hair dries. Now you have a cute style that you can wear out while your hair is styling itself! Feel free to add a clip-in bow or headband to spruce up the look.
Eyes. If you want your eyeshadow to last, it’s important to use a primer. If you find primer to be extra time, hassle, and money, then all you have to do is find a primer/shadow combo! Covergirl’s Intense Shadow Blast is a primer and shadow all in one. Choosing a more natural shade such as Beige Blaze, Brown Bling, or Forever pink will give you just enough color to make it look like you worked hard on your beauty routine that morning. That can be our little secret.
I always like to play up my eyes, but when I’m trying to cut down on time, eyeliner is one of the first things that has to go. I honestly think my eyeliner takes up the majority of my beauty routine. That being said, I do think it’s important to use mascara every day. Mascara really helps to open up your eyes and make you look more awake. And it can help to outline your eyes, if you get close enough to your lash line! In the spirit of multitasking, I’d recommend using Almay’s Get Up and Grow. This mascara instantly lengthens your lashes, but it also, over time, helps to strengthen your lashes. Long term benefits with short term results!
Face. Instead of moisturizer, foundation, concealer, and powder, you can simply use a BB cream. Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25 really is a big-deal multitasker. It’s a moisturizer, sunscreen, treatment serum, foundation, and concealer all in one. If that product didn’t save you time, then nothing will. To add a pop of color to your face, swipe on a bit of theBalm’s Stainiac Cheek and Lip Tint, and blend it in.
Lips. Why, yes. I did say that theBalm’s Stainiac was a cheek and lip tint. Same product, double duty! Swipe some on your lips and you’re good to go.
So what did I tell you? Five products in under five minutes. It probably took you longer to read this post than it would to get ready, so what are you waiting for? Try it out yourself! What beauty simplifying tips do you have?
