As a lover of all things beauty, I know the longing feeling of wanting to try every new product out there. I also know how expensive such a habit can be, as well as the heartbreak of an empty bank account. In order to curb my spending, I joined Birchbox. I like to explain Birchbox as a Netflix subscription of beauty products. With your monthly subscription, you get deluxe samples – not little packets of shampoo, but mini bottles – of five of the newest beauty products out there. If you like the samples you try, you can buy the full-sized versions on their site for a discount. Honestly, to be able to try five new products for $10 bucks a month? If you’re anything like me, you’re thinking Sign me up! Read on to hear about the cool products you can score with a Birchbox subscription.
I’ve been a member of Birchbox for the past three months. Here’s a list of the samples I’ve gotten to try.
- Color Club Nail Lacquer
- Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Fragrance
- Jurlique Herbal Recovery Night Cream
- Keratase Elixir Ultime
- ShowStoppers Designer Fashion Tape
- Atelier Cologne in Vanille Insensee
- Color Club Mini Nail Polish in Disco Nap
- Dr. Jart+ Waterfuse BB Cream
- fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF15
- twistband Hair Tie
- Georgie Beauty winks by Georgie False Lashes
- Hair Rules Volumizing Shampoo
- La Fresh Eco-Beauty Oil-Free Face Cleanser
- theBalm cosmetics Stainiac in Beauty Queen
- tili Bags for airport security
Instead of paying full price for a full size of a product I may not even end up liking, I paid about two bucks to try each product. If you think $2 is steep just to try a product, look again at the sizes of the samples. You can get quite a good number of uses out of them! I’ve been using the Keratase Elixir Ultime since I got it, and there’s no signs of it running out any time soon. The nail lacquers I’ve gotten may look smaller than your average bottle of polish, but I can guarantee at least five manicures with each. Now think about that: $2 for FIVE manicures. I think we’re starting to see the deals here.
Some people find their beauty routine and stick with it, which is great. If you don’t have any curiosity about what products are out there, you probably don’t need to sign up for Birchbox. If, however, you’re anything like me and you want to get your hands on as many products as possible – I like to say that I have a champagne taste on a Bud Light budget – signing up for Birchbox might be the best thing that ever happened to you. And to your wallet.
