Listen: Marian Hill, “Got It”

Marian Hill, “Got It”
Genre: electronic
Marian Hill sounds like: American Kimbra
Worth checking out: “Lovit,” “One Time”
The ideal setting to play “Got It”: your next house party. The beat alone will make anyone’s ears perk up.

The intro makes you think you’re about to listen to a never before heard Kanye track but then Samantha Gogol, lead singer of Marian Hill, comes in with the coolest vocal as she croons, “I got this thing, gonna blow your mind.” YOU ACTUALLY ARE, MARIAN HILL.

The other half of Marian Hill is Jeremy Lloyd, who is behind the production part and co-writes with Gogol. This beat heavy duo is based out of Philly. Their latest single “Got It” hit number one on Hype Machine a few weeks ago and blogs have been buzzing ever since. Check out their first debut EP Play and…you know what, just listen to the song already:

About Camille G.

Camille's passion for music began at the advent of the very illegal Napster, which she maaay or may not have used at the time. This interest made a natural progression into learning and teaching herself how to play various instruments for fun. Due to a lack of actual talent and the desire for job predictability, she graduated from Seton Hall University in nursing. When she has time off from her job as a registered nurse in NJ, she enjoys digging through the internet for new things to listen to. Sharing her discoveries and favorite songs with friends through mix CDs, playlists, blogs, and parties is the part of the music experience she enjoys the most, so this is a great opportunity for her to do just that.
