A Beauty Review: Smashbox Photo Op

Smashbox Photo Op Eye Shadow Trio  in Auto Expose ($28) (actual colors pictured below)

A matte eyeshadow trio with a pale pink, charcoal gray, and burgundy.

This is the perfect little eyeshadow trio.  I usually don’t like pinks on the eyes (I think it makes me look sick), but I love these colors.  The light pink is very flattering as a neutral base – it’s an almost-chalky-white pink.  The charcoal works to make the look smokey without being as harsh as a black shadow would be.  Be sure to blend the burgundy shade well, though, because that one seems to come out very pigmented (and, back to my point about pinks on the eyes, it can make me look sick if not blended totally).

I’d love to try the Photo Op trio in other colors.  If they can get me to like pinks, who knows what else might happen! The colors are pigmented, matte, and very flattering.  There’s a total of sixteen different shade combinations.  To be completely honest, these might be the only shadows you’ll ever need.
