Listen: Mausi, ‘sol.’

Mausi – sol.
Genre: Dance-pop
Sounds like: Alphabeat if their synthesizer broke
Worth checking out: Mausi – sol. (Lightwaves Remix)
The ideal setting to play “sol.”: A beautiful sunny day in your car with your sunglasses on, windows down, and volume cranked all the way up. Whether you’re actually driving or just sitting with the car in park.

Mausi is a Newcastle, England band made up of sister and brother Daisy and Thomas Finetto, Ben Brown, and Benji Huntrods. They’re still relatively new in the scene – in fact their label ATG Records, the “brainchild” of blog All Things Go, was launched only this past November. Mausi is in the process of working on new material so with releases like “sol.” and “Disney Films,” it’s easy to be excited for what they have in store.

From the title of the song to the bright piano chord progression, “sol.” oozes the essence of summer. Daisy and Thomas’s vocals play off each other perfectly. Several times throughout the track, you’re commanded to “Dance! Dance! Dance!” I double dog dare you not to do so while listening to this.

About Camille G.

Camille's passion for music began at the advent of the very illegal Napster, which she maaay or may not have used at the time. This interest made a natural progression into learning and teaching herself how to play various instruments for fun. Due to a lack of actual talent and the desire for job predictability, she graduated from Seton Hall University in nursing. When she has time off from her job as a registered nurse in NJ, she enjoys digging through the internet for new things to listen to. Sharing her discoveries and favorite songs with friends through mix CDs, playlists, blogs, and parties is the part of the music experience she enjoys the most, so this is a great opportunity for her to do just that.
